Hey Brian & Alex great read... I have a phenomenal patent on an ecard system but am unable to get access to or emails returned from any of the companies that could implement this and achieve million$ in its success. Any chance we could meet up and perhaps we can get this done? Let me know, Will

Brian, I feel as though you and I...we aren't so different after all! I left an account management position at a publicly traded fortune 500 SaaS company in 2014 to join a web-based startup, which I have been with since its birth ($0-$2k ARR), to where we are today ~$150k ARR. We are closing in on roughly $500k (hypothetical number) of outside investment and I am considering pivoting my role within the company. I am ideally interested in rotating out of sales and into something more stable, something without such a heavy commission pressure. I am thinking business development but I understand it is going to come down to what the company needs and not what I want. My question is: what roles within a growing startup may open that a head of sales/director of sales could transition into and what, specifically, does a biz dev role call for in a startup? We currently have sales, marketing, support, web and iOS dev and a talented CEO. Thank you!

If it does not exist, create it. If you have an idea-ideas or skills, think of how to use your ideas or skills to create a business and to put it out there to see what it can attract and what you can create.
Thanks Brian for taking time to share your story and Q&A with us. My question is what's your sales process towards brand owners? - Do you use sales reps and face to face meetings? Thx ^5

Brian, you've worked on Kiip for 6 years now. Do you still foresee growth on the platform and how is the team innovating to keep up with new technologies? Any plans for moving into VR?

Also as a fellow Vancouverite, do you see the potential for Vancouver to turn into a tech hub? Would you come back to contribute/invest to the growth in Vancouver?
