Hi Guys - I'm struggling with how I should handle our follow up series for two groups: trial sign ups and blog sign ups. In both cases I feel like I want to show them the value of the software/concept with great case studies (i.e How we used NinjaOutreach to generate 1000 visits). I want to show blog sign ups this to get them to try out the tool. I want to show free trial sign ups this to show them how they can get value out of the tool . I don't want to just walk through features. How do you handle it? I end up with the same follow up series for both groups...

To add to the final question: I'm the annoying customer who pays zero attention to onboarding UX and whines until I get personal support. I know I'm expensive. You can probably outsmart them if you design your UX so they can't get out of it until they click through all the steps.

Like look at this onboarding guide of Unbounce's dashboard, good luck trying to ignore it:

I'm head down in my startup and am focusing on growing month after month, and it's working! However, I've ignored legal things like Trademarks and Copyrights and any IP protection for the sake of progress and minimizing distractions in this early stage. However, as I see my investment growing, I want to protect it, but on the other end I see that as just another distraction. When is a good time to focus on these legal issues that I have begrudgingly ignored since the beginning?

In our CPA firm, new business clients generally do require more hand holding. For many, we are the first firm with whom they've worked, so we have to educate them on our expectations of them and understand their expectations of us. I firmly believe that client on-boarding fails when expectations are not managed properly. You can screw up a lot, but if you don't make sure to understand what the client expects in the beginning, the relationship may not ever take off. This even goes beyond typical scoping of engagements. The "managing expectations" discussion has to be purposeful.

Alex, I believe that for businesses who have a potential for customer acquisition through referral traffic, coming with the use of their product (think website widgets like live chat), blogging can be secondary to securing key referring clients, on ANY conditions. With chatra.io we tried to do both, but in order to do blogging right, you have to focus on it. So I believe we will not post regularly for now and will put all our efforts in acquiring referral traffic. We'll see how it works!
