Hey Alex,
Thanks for summarizing these insightful points into one post.
I would add to #1 - in some industries/markets it's not common to offer a forever free plan, and for a startup in that sphere it will be very tempting to 'go with the stream' and mimic its more successful and well known competitors by offering a free trial and paid plans.

I would argue to do just the opposite and stick to a forever free plan even when your competition is not doing that, the upside of being different and offering something new to the market can outperform the norm.
It's a risk, but one worth taking, in any case you will have to measure it (split test) and see what works better because even those counter intuitive decisions have to be validated at some point.

Alex, loved the way you highlighted the best tips fromi the leaders in SaaS we look up to. Hiten and Rick especially gave such actionable steps - ready to implement. Can you share your own experience in paid advertising? We have burnt our fingers chasing a niche and the economics didnt make sense for us. The CAC was hitting the roof

Alex, thanks for sharing these insights. I just shared your article with friends and my community. Regarding #4 - "Use Facebook to validate your idea" what is your opinion? I'd love to hear your thoughts about validating the hypothesis / idea of a startup. How do you exactly recommend others to validate their ideas (even for non Saas products)? I'm talking about getting the early adopters and have them using your product in the early days.
