Not to be argumentative, but I'm sorry to say that apart from content, blog reads, and email, the rest of these tactics have been devalued for years now. Referral links(widget links, been there done that), guest post(none relevant or paid are useless). Your efforts would be better suited towards organic referrals, social, great content and verticals. You stayed out of the SEO game too long. Again, more of trying to bring this to your attention not too bring a negative light on your post.

Hey Alex!

Excellent blog post as always :-)

Question... When reaching out to other blogs to create guest content, do you have any tips? Anything you make sure to include in the email?

Thanks a ton,

Hey Alex, I recently wrote about your "Zendesk Alternative" page and why it's a "multiplier" here: http://www.gkogan.co/blog/alternative-pages/

For anyone interested in implementing this tactic for themselves (it works very well, by the way), my post includes specific steps on doing it.

I like the idea of the referral link and how you integrated it into the customer support feature. Makes sense that it converts well. Not so sure about having the optin form at the top and bottom of the blog though. Website feels a bit busy - http://prntscr.com/6ludmj Just my thoughts

Hey Alex, really great post, as usual! Would love to know how you are tracking the effectiveness of your various marketing / growth-hacking efforts? And whether or not you analyze these efforts at a macro level, or if you really dive deep into the numbers to see which specific efforts are performing well and why.

We're using kissmetrics to understand what people are doing on our site BEFORE they actually sign up... and it's been extremely helpful in terms of optimizing our funnel. But I feel like I spend a lot of unnecessary time on this analysis... Their interface seems to require me to jump through so many hoops in order to get at the data I'm really wanting. And I usually wind up grabbing data from kissmetrics, and then doing my own slicing and dicing in a Google spreadsheet. :) Just curious how you guys are handling this.

Alex, I love that you go for the things that don't scale. All the growth hacking (hip word for marketing :) is almost always automated and devoid of all the emotions and personality.
What I like about Groove is that you guys have a great brand personality and you answer emails in a second.
Zapier indeed is a great way to boost your growth, increase retention and reduce support requests, win-win-win. If there is one integration you should do -- i'is Zapier. You'll be published in their newsletter mentioning new zaps + blog post and you can ride the wave with useful posts on zaps for your customers. If done right, this will be a super push to your growth.
