Alex, I've been patiently awaiting completion of construction in my new office space for several months. An employee of the general contractor apologized for the long wait recently, mentioning that "the squeaky wheel gets the grease." I make an effort to treat everyone with kindness, respect, and patience because I believe that this approach truly pays off in the end. In the meantime, "squeaky wheels" might not be everyone's best friend, but they may be achieving more than me, and faster. What are your thoughts on when it's appropriate and/or beneficial to just be the asshole? :)
