If I can add to this conversation, I'd tell that I failed at first 2 businesses that I built because I was trying to solve someone else's problem. I desperately wanted to start a business and was actively looking for ideas. And the threshold to measure the quality of an idea was to ask myself the question, "Can I build it?"

I have realized that it is not a good question to ask. I ended up making products that I could build but users didn't want to buy. Bad state to be in.

Then, I started reading a lot and noticing my day-to-day life. And then I started realizing the problems that really required a solution. And on top of which, profitable businesses could be built too.

(Also, to give back to other smart creatives, who love making things, I started a newsletter that curates all the problems worth solving. It is my personal side project. If any one could benefit from it -- https://unmade.email)
