I tried to do a set up wizard like Google, and rolled out 2 versions : a 9 step one and a 3 step one, not only were the completion ratios different but the start ratios were even worse. As you can imagine 9 was way bad. So I broke the 9 up, a 3 step on boarding form with no indicator of steps and a 3 step wizard, and it worked better than the other 2 with a better start and completion ratio.
