We&#039;ve been running an open beta for the last year to collect as much customer feedback as possible. Because we have a fairly niche product, over 90% of our users are our target customer. However we have definitely experienced some of the issues you mentioned. 

To be completely transparent, one of our biggest wins has been sending the &quot;Welcome, plus a quick question&quot; email to gather feedback. We&#039;ve seen about a 15% response rate, but more importantly it opens the door for conversation.
