Hey, I like your article! It's interesting to see your experience how hard it was to scale up your business, but I'm glad that you are still motivated after all the hard work! @ValuerAI recently posted an article about Blitzscaling. Check it out and let me know what you think about it!

Interesting post Alex. Based on rising costs along with rising revenue at what point do you plan on seeing a profit occur? Seems like that is going to be very critical at some point.

When I was getting my pilot's license, I offered to help my instructor advertise his school online. He passed and said he had more prospective students than he could handle. I asked him if he was interested in scaling up and becoming a larger operation (he had 2 single engine planes, a twin engine and about 4 flight instructors as part of his operation). He said that the overhead was too much of a headache and he'd spend more time managing than flying.

I wonder if there's a systematic way of scaling a business without the management side of things becoming a time-and-resource-sucking monster.

We're going through some of the early stages of scaling and you can feel the frustration across the board. Developer's having to put new features on hold, customer service getting swamped, and biz dev feeling bogged down by CRM rather than pursuing new revenue. I shared this with our entire team because it not only very clearly explains why this is happening, but what we can do to continue to push through and helps set expectations going forward. THANKS!!!

Hi! Great post!

I hope to hit that moment soon :)

Can I suggest a post? As myself a CTO of a growing startup, can I suggest a post more technical focused in things that you guys are doing in scaling the application itself? I think i'll be great !

I really like the way you open up showing the company, with it good side but also with it's pains. Not all companies would open like that.

I'm not an expert on building a business and I'm not even your client (yet) but one thing, as a user and a dev, I appreciate are things done easily and focusing on the important stuff. Don't add too many features as you will see bugs will rise exponentially and focus on those features that deliver most for your clientes. Make them super easy, fast. Generally, you will get more mouths speaking good about your service and you will have organic sustainable growth.

Also, keep up with the posts as the company grows up and don't let that culture die, because it's awesome!
