Thank you for sharing. My team simply uses kanbantool.com for collaboration and project management and it works really well. We can see what other people did when we were absent, we can leave comments if needed, we can see who works on which task at the moment. I find it very useful.

Thanks for sharing Alex. We are building our remote workforce also and have two international team members. So we are a total of 6 all in different areas, but a few of us local. Thanks for sharing this. We have not been using slack but we are implementing it now. Also, How do you as the CEO keep track of work being done? We are so small I am usually jumping in and working also. I usually stay up late to communicate with those around the world. In your early days how did you handle this if you had to at all?

Hi Alex, just curious what you use for tasks tracking/management? For example, Asana or something else? And how do you deal with the pains of what-goes-to-Asana (or whatever) vs what-goes-to-Slack?

This post could not have come at a better time. I’ve been exploring ways to smooth out our workflow. Frankly, considering Groove as part of it. We are more of an agency style vs product team (although we do have some of that as well). Because of agency work we can’t get away from email. Lord knows I’ve tried. Frankly, thins like Slack and trello only mean we have another layer to manage. It seems a help desk style solution maybe the way to go.

As usual you always seem to know what I’m thinking about! We follow some of the tips you have laid out but it was very helpful to see the exact topics and how you run the large meeting. Since we are also in Slack, Ive experimented with having a private channel as a personal to do list and we also have a public channel which we use as an agenda for meetings, which was working well for awhile. I might go back to Trello for that broader view again, good reminder. Thanks Alex!

I love your updates, Alex, and this may be the best one yet. Who has not had problems with communication? Thank you for sharing the schedule of your daily meetings. Meetings can get so onerous especially when one person dominates the conversations. i’ve done more of that myself than I care to admit, but I’ve been on the other end of it too and walked away frustrated at not being heard. So thanks again.

Hey @Alex, great post as always!
I’m curious why would you use slack instead of Basecamp 3. Since slack relies on chatting too much(IMO not the way to go for the teams if we look beyond Silicon Valley hype :)) + you need another service for todos.
Couldn’t all of this be accomplished with BCX3 or similar services ?

This is all great, but when do you plan to release a mobile app? I am about to decide to switch to Zendesk, because lack of iOS app for Groove becomes increasingly annoying. 🙁
